Why rent from Welch Music?

For over 40 years, Welch Music has been offering outstanding instruments to our community.  For those looking to purchase their instruments outright, we offer a generous cash discount when you select your horn.  However, we understand that instruments can be rather expensive and parents are also concerned whether or not their child will find the passion in their instrument to continue throughout their school careers and beyond.  This is where low cost rentals are beneficial and where Welch Music steps in to serve.



How much will this cost?

With our revised rental plans, we now offer instruments on a rent-to-own basis for as little as $11.00 per month depending on which instrument your student chooses.  You can rest easy knowing that your payments will also be going towards the balance of the instrument.  This means that once you’ve made payments for a set period of time, the instrument will be yours to keep.



What happens if my instrument gets damaged?

Often times when an instrument is rented, especially to younger students, accidents occur.  Welch Music offers a repairs & maintenance plan for just $5.00 on all of our rental instruments.  If you opt in for this coverage, we will cover all labor costs to get your instrument back to playing standards.  All of this work is done in-house via our Twin Falls, ID location.  We take care of you locally; we do not send our instruments up to Boise or out of state to be maintained. This allows us to get your instrument back to you ASAP!



How long are the rental terms, and am I locked into the contract?

Our contracts vary by instrument, most are 36-month terms, but some are 24 and 18 depending on their type and value.  This only means if you have that specific instrument for the length of the contract terms, you own the instrument.  You are welcome to return the instrument at any point during the contract term, and the contract will then be terminated.



What happens if my student outgrows their instrument and needs a bigger size or a different instrument?

As long as you have an active contract with us, we allow you to return the instrument at any point.  Upon return, we can then outfit you with a new instrument that meets your needs.  We then honor the previous contract by transferring 50% of the equity to the new contract.
